There is a stamp event named "the Blue Mauritius" in Communicateion museum in Berlin until Sep. 25th, 2011.This exhibition shows only 2 kinds of Post Office stamps of Mauritius. I was invited to both of the opening event (Sep. 1st) and lecture "collokium" (Sep. 2nd) , so I'll write them on this blog.
"All the Stamps of the World - First Decade - " shows you Mauritius as the 8th first country issueing the stamps, though far away from the Continent where philatelists gather, it took several month for the philatelists to find this first issue of the stamps in Mauritius. That is why only 26 stamps exists in the world including all the mint, used, covers of the 2 stamps.
The existing number of several stamps are one or two and much less than this Mauritius Post Office stamps, however, this one is very very popular among the philatelists. The reason I think is 1) this is a classical stamp 2)no doubt for the issue itself 3)no overprinted stamps, so no doubt of forged overprint. The estimate value is one million euro in used condition, 3to6million for covers. Wealthy philatelists used to have one before, however when they have to sell them, philatelic museums or non-philatelist investors started to get them. So it is not so easy to see it in private market.
This exhibition show 18 stamps out of 26 existing Post Office stamps and I think this number is first and probably the last. I enjoyed seeing stamps very much, I also had a fun in getting the guidebook of this show. It listed all this 18 stamps in English &German with many photoes. You can enjoy how each Post Office stamps are looked for and some other stories like reprint of this stamp.

Most of the theme in the conference named "Collocium" , held on Sep. 2nd, were the contents of this guidebook.
So I studied reading the guidebook the day before the Collocium to understand the conference better.
The man with ! mark above is those who made a speech in the collocium too.
I enjoyed every conference, though it was a pity Mrs. Helen Morgan, the writer of "Blue Mauritius: The Hunt for the World's Most Valuable Stamps" didn't come to the show.
This photo shows how the conference was. only 60 people are invited and I'm the only man from Aisian countries. (to be continued....)
