Bordeaux 1847 Mauritius cover

Today I show you the goods I got at the Blue Mauritius show. The famous Bordeaux cover franking two kinds of Mauritius Post Office stamps!

Someone found it in my last blog, but this is a private reprint of the famous cover and is sold for 10 EUR at the museum shop in the communication museum, Berlin. Franking two kinds of 1847, Post Office stamps, cancelled with black rectangular PENNY POST cancellation of Port Louis, sent on Oct. 4th, 1847 and arrived at Bordeaux on Dec. 28th. This is the only cover franking two kinds of the stamps.

This cover was owned by Mr.Lichtenstein, Mr.Hind and Mr. Kanai. Mr. Kanai bought it for million USD in 1971 and sold it for 3.8million USD in 1988. The owner now get it for around the same price in 1993. I think there is a possibility the owner is an investor.
By the way because this is a private reprint manufactured recently, you can not allowed to show one on the competitive stamp exhibition. It is probable more than ten thousand copies are manufactured, it is also not rare at all. But I like this one because it is manufactured very well with the documents of the cover(you can see the letter), stamps are made by themselves and attached to the envelope and cancelled.
I don't think no regular philatelist will be cheated by this cover because it is too much popular and is estimated several million. So philatelists can only get the happiness with the rare item or the knowledge .
